Skeem Saam Actress Makgofe Moagi Explains How Witchcraft Works

Published

on

The question of whether or not which craft is real is one that is confusing. More especially for millennial South Africans. Skeem Saam actress, Makgofe Moagi went to IG Live to break it down with her followers. She was accompanied by HRH Nqobile Ike Ntanzi and tabisocial_rsa.

“What do people get from bewitching others?” Was one of the questions that came up.

“Do you know that some of them don’t even have the choice? Some of them are coerced into doing it. They get threats and they do it. That’s why they go extremely hard to make sure that they go ahead with what they sent by those senior witches. They just come into your body. You’ll probably be sleeping but your spirit is the one that’s working. It’s out, it’s gone but you are doing things that you don’t want to do because you don’t want to lose a family member.” Revealed one of the panel members.

Makgofe relieved some of her earlier experiences with witchcraft in the village where she grew up in the Limpopo province. “When I was growing up I remember, my late uncle n my village – there was that vigilantism thing where we are going after witches. I remember, my uncle picked me and put me on his shoulders at night. Nine O’clock we are leaving our houses. I’m sure Master KG would attest to this if he was here.” She continued.

“The house that we went to was literally on a mountain. So you walk up a mountain a bit. That lady had the main house and she had these rondavels. They were about three or four and when she saw the youth coming she just disappeared into the mountain. They found she had turtles. She had cats but obviously, the cat ran with her. But we never discovered where she disappeared into.”

Those tuned into the Live wanted to find out how does one get themselves out of that situation. “It’s a tricky one. It’s just like the process of Ukthwasa.” Explains Tabi. “There are certain things that you get to eat and certain things that you need to drink. In the last stage of your initiation, there’s a sacrificial ceremony that is done. So that is something that cannot be undone. So I’ve got these beats (he pointed to his wrists and ankles). Even if I had to take them off, I can’t change the fact that I have a gift and our ancestors have graduated through me and they recognize me as this person who has completed the process of Ukthwasa.

Even if I tell myself that I’m retiring and that I’m leaving everything behind. They will still come to me via dreams. I will still see the visions – it won’t change. So the same thing will apply, especially if there are rituals that have been done.”

Skeem Saam Actor Dumps The Show For Politics

MPHOZA Mashabela is going into politics.

The former Skeem Saam actor and Limpopo Artist Movement chairman is running to become a councillor in Mokopane.

He told Daily Sun if he was elected, he’d focus on service delivery and issues affecting artists. He said he was running as an independent candidate.

“I’m contesting ward 12 in Mahwelereng. I was nominated by friends who felt I could represent this ward as I understood its challenges. I was also motivated by One South Africa Movement leader Mmusi Maimane as he’s been supporting local leaders to contest elections independently,” he said.

Mphoza said he’d focus on the basic needs of the community.

“My community lacks basic services such as healthcare,” he said.

“I shall also be focusing on unemployment. Our youth is unemployed and it’s unfortunate that people from outside the area get first preference.

“I am, therefore, going to ensure our local youth is skilled and educated enough to get jobs locally.”

Mphoza said if he was elected, he’d contribute 50% of his salary to bursaries. “I’ll be doing this from my Mphoza and Friends Foundation. I will also concentrate on fixing the roads.”

Mphoza said he didn’t think his duties as councillor and chairman of the movement would clash.

“The movement is aware I’m contesting this position and I have their full support. I’ll also ensure that our interests as artists are taken seriously.”

Maimane said he was fully behind Mphoza.

“I’ve always said certain groups were underrepresented and we needed people like Mphoza to fight for them. My belief is you can’t lead the arts and culture sector if you’re not an artist.”

A 21-year-old woman who was allegedly r_ped by her father over a nine-year period has refused to end their s.e.xual relationship. The woman, who has since fallen pregnant, identified another man as her baby’s father but it was later revealed that her father had impregnated her.

The woman’s refusal to end the affair has caused a rift in the family and a team of social workers has been assigned to investigate the matter with a view to providing counseling to the family and offering ongoing psychosocial support to the woman who has suffered humiliation at the hands of her stepdaughter.

“Our team of social workers will also have sessions with the girl and provide her with psychosocial support,” said KZN MEC for Social Development, Nonhlanhla Khoza.

Furthermore, Khoza has called on police to investigate and charge the father.

“This man should face statutory r_pe since he started to sleep with his daughter while still a minor,” the MEC said.

It is alleged that the girl and her father began a s.e.xual relationship when she was 12.

It is further alleged that the 52-year-old man began raping his daughter when she would come over to visit him.

Khoza said the girl lost her mother and stayed with her sibling, father and stepmother.

She expressed shock at the incident adding that such acts showed that there were those in communities who had lost their moral compass.

Khoza called on communities to stand together and call out those involved in child abuse, r_pe, and gender-based violence.

“If the communities did not keep quiet for so long, such dastardly acts may have been averted earlier. Our communities should understand that ignoring cases of s_xual exploitation perpetuates such actions.

“We want to appeal to the SAPS to conduct a thorough investigation and put forward a strong case for the prosecution against the man. As a society, we need to send a strong message to perpetrators of such crimes that we have zero tolerance for their disgusting behavior,” Khoza said.

WATCH | Strict Teacher Shot Dead By 14-Year-Old Student In Cape Town

An eyewitness who had been preparing to guide children safely into the school grounds, has given a chilling account of how she watched two gunmen flee the scene after killing a school teacher at Heinz Park Primary school this morning.

The teacher, 53, has been identified as a Mr Thulani Manqoyi, a grade six mathematics educator who had been at the school since 2008.

No one has been arrested and the motive for the killing is still unknown but the community leaders are baying for blood, calling for the death penalty and a swift arrest.

Devastated parents, colleagues and Walking Bus members gathered in and outside the school grounds while police combed the crime scene for clues. A shocked security guard rushed to the vehicle in tears and collapsed on the ground.

The Walking Bus member who cannot be identified for security reasons, spoke exclusively to the Weekend Argus, about how she had found the teacher dead inside his car moments after he had been shot.

“We are on patrol, we make sure the children go safely into the gates and fetch those still walking along the road,” she said.

“We were just at our point where we were taking the children in when we heard the gunshots. We then ran and when we came closer to the school grounds, we saw two people fleeing. They looked suspicious but we could not see who they were.

“We asked the security what happened? what shooting was it? Whether it was inside or outside. When we arrived at the car, as we had walked between the cars, we saw the teacher lying there, shot inside his car.

She said he was a strict teacher who cared a lot for his learners.

Fadiel Adams of the Cape Coloured Congress who also rushed to the scene said Mr Manqoyi was a good man.

“He came here to teach and today he is dead. An entire school is traumatised. But look at the situation, look at Heinz Park and understand, why a young man from Heinz Park can think so little of life , look at the sewerage here in front of the school.

“There is absolutely nothing here for these kids. The circumstances do not change, nothing else will change and we will lose more people. Today it is a fact, the most sacrificing of professions, teachers and doctors are no longer safe.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Andre Traut confirmed two suspects had fled the scene: “The circumstances surrounding the death of a 52- year-old man are being investigated after he was shot and killed in the parking area of Heinz Park primary school while sitting in his vehicle this morning at around 7:45am.

“ Two unknown suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.

“Any person with information regarding the murder is kindly requested to contact crime Stop on 08600 10111.”
