Gc (Khaya Dladla ) and Thobile (Noxy Mabika) made an unforgettable return to SABC’s Uzalo on last night’s episode (6 April 2021) and Mzansi went wild.
haya Dladla and Nokuthula Mabika, who play the characters of GC and Thobile, are among the four actors who have been shown to be returning to the popular SABC 1 soapie.
The producers are concerned that Uzalo’s viewership will suffer as a result of the absence of heavyweight actors. Another source praised the decision to rehire familiar faces, claiming that it will help the show’s move after losing three famous actors.

Dawn Thandeka King’s epic Uzalo exit storyline will see original cast members Ntokozo “TK” Dlamini, Nkosinathi “Nay Maps” Maphalala, Khaya Dladla and Nokuthula Mabika return to SA’s most-watched show.
Maphalala as Mxolisi and Dlamini as Mastermind will reprise the roles that made them household names on April 20 as they team up for the biggest heist ever seen in KwaMashu, KwaZulu-Natal.

The actor says while he’s excited he’ll be returning with his good friend Noxy Mabika who played Thobile, he’s sad to see some actors go. Four actors that have and are leaving the show include; Dawn Thandeka King who played MaNgcobo, Siyabonga Shibe who played Qhabanga, Baby Cele who played Gabisile and Jet Novuka who played Captain Mpambani.
“It’s been a long time coming. I was really excited when I was called to come back to the show. It’s a bonus that I’m coming back with one of my good friends Noxy Mabika who plays Thobile. I can’t wait for people to see what we have in store for them. But it saddens me that some of the people I adore on the show and would have loved to work with are leaving.”
The actor also states that people on the streets still call him GC and he carries the character wherever he goes.

“GC is one of the characters that never left me because everywhere I went, I was reminded of him and how I played him well. I missed bringing him to life and adding my own flavour. One of the reasons that made me jump the opportunity to revive GC was because I was exhausted of being asked why I left the show. I didn’t leave on my own will. It was due to the storyline. I’m happy that people will get answers to their questions.”
Mmamiste Thibedi who is the producer of the show also explained why they’ve brought back some of the old characters.
